Mini-Reviews now on Jaiku too!

We announced LouderTweets recently, which are 140 character mini-reviews you can send to LouderVoice from Twitter without needing a LouderVoice account.

Last night we turned on LouderViesti which is the equivalent feature for the superb Jaiku. Jaiku is like Twitter but can do much much more. They are based in Finland and are adding great features at a fast rate.

We are now calling LouderTweets+LouderViesti = LouderMinis!

Using LouderViesti is even easier than LouderTweets.

  • Sign Up on Jaiku if you are not already a member
  • Join the #reviews channel
  • On the #reviews channels page, write reviews using the following format:
  • RatingOutOf5 Item Name. Review Text
  • For example:
  • 3 Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc. Cheap for Marlborough. Not at Villa Maria or Montana level
  • That’s it! Within 30 minutes that review will be searchable/rateable/bookmarkable/shareable on LouderVoice

Of course if you have registered your mobile with Jaiku, you can send reviews from that too

  • Just send a text message to +46 737 494 0501 in the following format:
  • #reviews 3 Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc. Cheap for Marlborough. Not at Villa Maria or Montana level
  • That’s all there is to it! Give it a twirl. We have some fun ideas for it that we’ll announce next week

Hi. Great service! Have some questions though.

I was thinking about doing small hyperlocal reviews of ecological wine available in my town. What I would like is to be able to tag them and agregate them to my blog.
How about connecting the jaiku username of the reviewer in LouderMinis to the LouderVoice username of the same person? That way I could get an RSS feed of my reviews but make them on my phone. Also, maybe add a tag syntax of some kind.

How about it? Thanks a lot / Olof

Hey Olof, love the sound of your idea.

Your first request is coming very soon. You’ll be able to associate multiple ids on multiple sites to your LouderVoice account.

I’ve been thinking about tagging and we really are limited by the number of characters available. The simplest option is probably to get people to add tags at the end of the review using a format like [tag1] [tag2] or [tag1, tag2, tag3]

    Any preference or alternatives?

    Hi Conor. Kinda tipsy right now since I’m trying out that eco wine I was talking about. However;
That association thing sounds lovely, can’t hardly wait, please mail me when it’s active.

About the tag-thing, I guess brackets would work swell since we’re short on characters. so a review would look like this:

4 Agrest de Gitard ecological wine. Good. Having a great time. Feeling lovely. [ecological organic wine agrest guitard]

    (See: http://www.loudervoice.com/search?q=agrest)

And that’s only 121 chars, plenty of space for intoxicated stupid expresssion.

Mind you though, one thing that would rock my world would be the ability to append flickr images. That however would need to be a later question. Something to add whilst on the LouderVoice site. http://flickr.com/photos/olofw/919396877/ is just too many chars to waste on a jaiku.

Kind regards and thanks for the quick response.

    Olof, keen adapter.

One idea we’re looking at is to allow you to take basic mini-review you posted and then expand it to a full review when you logon to our site from your computer. At that point you could add flickr etc.
